} Aug 21, The old swing arm bushing are a pain to remove. After replacing a couple of these in past, I use this method.
Is there a center bushing in there as well???
Take a hack saw blade and start sawing through the bushing length wise (careful not cut the metal) do this to opposite sides of the bushing. Then take a punch or thin screwdriver b/n the bushing and swing arm and shrubfalling.clubg: Redmond WA.
Jul 23, Another possibility would be a small screwdriver & hammer, forced between the bushing & swingarm. Once you open a gap, you can then use a larger screwdriver, punch or even a steel cut masonry nail to collapse the steel shell into a (more or less) heart shape, then pull it.
The new bushings will have to be pressed into shrubfalling.clubg: Redmond WA. Feb 28, Use a steel rod and hammer to hit it from the inside. Put the steel rod (or equivalent piece of metal) into the swingarm and use it as a punch catching the inner lip of the opposite side bushing. +1 It's a simple job just to knock them out as described above.

On my handfull of CT's the bushings have been tight and I havn't had a reason to remove them. It looks to me like they are a hard Missing: Redmond WA.
Aug 12, Swingarm bushing removal is a B#@H. Discussion in 'Tech Area' started by but it worked. Also, heated the swing arm hole with a torch and froze the bushings over night.
It was easy going for the first half, but after that the temperature differential between bushing and swing arm dissipated and it was harder to get the rest of the bushing Missing: Redmond WA.
